I love to share my passion for reading. Literacy is the foundation for success in school and in life. As a titleholder, I share an important message to encourage and empower children to become leaders of tomorrow by reading today.
Literacy is a topic that I am passionate about! As a child, my parents fostered a love of books and reading. Now, as a mother of three little ones, I realize the importance of reading to them every day.
In 2013, I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and became a licensed elementary educator. I taught second grade students and saw first-hand the value of teaching children reading and writing skills early on in life. Some students read far below grade level and struggled, not only with reading, but in other subjects as well. Promoting early literacy skills sets a child up for success in school and life. Read to a child today and empower them to become leaders of tomorrow!
There are so many benefits to reading! Reading is exercise for the brain. It can provide relaxation and a better night’s sleep. Reading to a young child helps to build early language skills, stimulates brain development and encourages imagination. It’s a wonderful one-on-one activity that strengthens the bond between parent and child. Reading provides benefits for all ages and is a lifelong skill!
