Lesson learned

Scientists found that ants teach one another how to behave. It is called tandem running and it works like this: The “teacher” ant runs ahead of the “student” ant to show a route to food. The student ant signals to the teacher ant through taps when it is ready to move on in the lesson. What a star pupil! If you could choose any person to teach you for a day, who would it be and what would they teach you?

Take flight!

Dragonflies have the longest migration of any insect. They can fly hundreds of miles over open water to get to their destination. Pretend you woke up one morning as a dragonfly. Where would you fly? What would you want to see?

 Super bugs!

Bugs play an important role in our environment. For being such tiny creatures they possess pretty cool “super” characteristics. For instance, ants can lift up to 5,000 times their body weight and fireflies create a light that is 100% efficient (talk about going green!) What bug super power would you like to have and how would you use it to do good things in the world?
